I’m disgusted with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Department. For years I volunteered with Neighborhood Watch and Crime Prevention Day. But when a neighbor started making false police reports against me, I got no help at all. I told the truth to one deputy who did not write down anything I said, did not file a report, and dismissed me with “I don't believe you.” Another deputy and a sergeant said that the neighbor could go on making false police reports indefinitely. Nobody said, “This person is committing crimes against you, and we will help you.” (Making false police reports is punishable by fines and jail time.) I appealed to Sheriff Harris, who did not aanswer me. What use is it to enlist citizens to volunteer helping the Sheriff’s Department if the sheriff and deputies then side with the criminals?
